Rumours have it that the Chairman General of morning shows in Ghana Kwame Sefa Kayi has joined one of Ghana’s most listened to Radio Station; Sompa FM’s Accra Section.
Chairman General, has been notably absent from his regular Peace FM slot since the beginning of the year, fueling conjecture about his next career step.
Whispers within the media industry suggest that Kwame Sefa Kayi may have joined Sompa FM, a relatively new media house that commenced test transmissions in November 2024 across multiple locations.
Sompa FM, with its Accra frequency at 106.5FM, is part of a broader network that includes stations in Takoradi (103.3FM), Tarkwa (101.1FM), and Techiman (106.1FM), amounting to seven radio stations and two television channels.
Sompa FM’s expansion across the country indicates a significant investment in the media space.
The alleged move of a high-profile figure like Kwame Sefa Kayi to the network would be a considerable coup, potentially shifting the landscape of morning show radio in Ghana.
Kwame Aseda Kayi later in an interview has asked people to debunk the rumors stating he’s on leave and he hasn’t joined Sompa.
