The La Traditional Council (LTC) has announced a ban on noise-making from August 5 to 30, 2024, coinciding with the annual Homowo festival in the Greater Accra Region.
The Council’s statement urged churches, hotels, eateries, and other businesses in the La Traditional Area to adhere strictly to the guidelines during this period.
The Council emphasized that violators of the noise ban would face appropriate consequences.
The ban affects several areas including Cantonments, Shiashi, Labone, La Township, Oyarifa, Burma Camp, Frafraha, Adentan, Ashaley Botwe, Teiman, Ayi Mensah, and Tse Addo.
The Homowo festival is a significant cultural event, and the noise ban aims to maintain the traditional sanctity and peace necessary for its celebration.
