The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC has accused former President John Dramani Mahama of planning to stage a coup in Ghana.
Abronye DC made this damning allegation while speaking in an exclusive interview on ‘Dwene ho Bio’ political talk show hosted by Agya Wusu on Accra-based Hot 93.9FM
According to the NPP stalwart, John Mahama is not only in ties with Al Qaeda Militants to help him undertake a coup to become president again but his face naturally looks like Coup d’etat.
He added that since the constitution of the land frowns on coup d’etat – there is no explanation at this point in time for Ghana to entertain coup plotters since the country has suffered much from the previous coup since independence thus he would shoot to kill any coup plotter.
Following the accusation, the maverick politician was detained by the Accra Regional Police Command on Tuesday evening. He was subsequently arraigned before court and has been granted bail in the sum of GHC100,000 with two sureties.
The NPP stalwart has been charged on two counts of publication of false news and offensive conduct conducive to breaches of the peace.
