Former Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has dismissed claims that Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh popularly known as NAPO, the Energy Minister, is arrogant, calling it a misconception that should not be perpetuated in political discussions.
According to mynewsgh.com reports, Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu explained that Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s straightforward communication style is often mistaken for arrogance.
“Napo speaks plainly, so people misconstrue that plain talk as arrogance. People who are close to him know that he is not arrogant. He just speaks plainly and that is what people misconstrue as arrogance,” he said.
He highlighted Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s willingness to reflect on his words and apologize if needed, emphasizing his humility and forgiving nature.
“Napo is someone who after a thoughtful reflection on what he said will come back to you and apologize and let you understand that he may have been overtaken by his emotions. He also forgives easily,” Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu added.
Addressing the topic of Dr. Opoku Prempeh potentially becoming a running mate, Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu mentioned ongoing consultations by the Vice President, noting that while it is not yet confirmed, it is a possibility.
“Now that he’s become a running mate, I know it is not confirmed but it would. The Vice President is still doing his consultations but someone gave the information out but the constitution of the party says the main body he should consult is the national council,” he said.
