A prominent member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Communication Team, Stephen Sedem Deegbe, has astonishingly revealed the meagre financial support provided to party communicators in the Greater Accra Region.
Speaking on Hot 93.9FM’s Hot Morning Drive, hosted by Oman Nana, Stephen Sedem Deegbe painted a bleak picture of the party’s internal welfare system by disclosing that communicators tasked with defending the ruling party in the nation’s capital are currently earning less than GH₵700 per month.
“The Greater Accra Regional Communicators receive less than GH₵700 for one person every month”. He said
He criticised the “preferential treatment” of certain figures, questioning why prominent members like Eric Adjei have been overlooked for appointments while others have been fast-tracked into government roles.
Deegbe specifically directed his frustration toward Sammy Gyamfi, the CEO of Ghana Gold Board (GOLDBOD), rather than other party executives. He questioned the influence Sammy Gyamfi wields in securing positions for specific individuals
” I won’t blame Ako Gunn..I blame the one at the GoldBod…Sammy Gyamfi..Oh yes, has Eric Agyie gotten a post? Is he not the one who has made Beatrice Annan a presidential staffer and stuff… Godwin Mahama is now a spokesperson at the Tema Oil Refinery”. He stated
“I don’t have a problem if these people have been given appointments…But why would he leave out the Regional Communicators”? He added
In a scathing critique of his own party’s management, Stephen Deegbe suggested that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) handles its personnel more effectively, stating that it would have at least created deputy roles to support its team members.
