General Secretary for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Asiedu Nketia in a cryptic message to his National Chairman insists that no position in the party is the personal property of occupants.
He was answering questions on whether he will contest for the National Chairman position and claims by Chairman Ofosu Ampofo that he will beat anyone who contests him.
According to the man called General Mosquito, after four years, the mandate given to occupants of the position so that they are voted on if they want to maintain their positions take other challenges.
He said no individual can lay claim to any position as their sole preserve.
“We don’t contest human beings, we contest for positions. Positions in the party are not the sole preserve of some people. After four years your mandate expires and you put yourself up for another election in the same spot or something new if you want. No one can say a position in the party is their sole preserve. So when it’s time for elections people will contest for positions they think they are fit for,” he said on Accra-based Okay FM.
Meanwhile, the General Secretary for the NDC did not answer whether he will be contesting for the Chairmanship of the opposition NDC as it has been widely speculated.
