The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has launched an innovative Annual Health Check-up (AHC) policy, offering free medical check-ups to beneficiaries every year during their birth month.
This initiative aims to detect and manage conditions such as blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and body mass index (BMI), alongside providing health counselling and necessary referrals.
Dr. Dacosta Aboagye, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NHIA, highlighted the significance of this program at the launch event themed “Addressing NCDs and Chronic Diseases in Ghana.”
He emphasized that the AHC policy underscores the Authority’s dedication to preventive healthcare, which is crucial for meeting global health objectives.
The AHC policy is designed to proactively address non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and chronic health issues prevalent in Ghana.
