Dr. Omane Boamah, Director of IT and Elections for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has raised concerns about the internal issues within the Electoral Commission (EC).
He claims that disgruntled staff members of the Commission are leaking crucial information to the opposition party.
“Your staff on the ground are already dissatisfied and almost revolted a few weeks ago because of several other factors,” Dr. Boamah stated.
The former Communications Minister urged the EC to address the growing discontent among its employees. He emphasized that the Commission must stop interfering in the work of their officers to prevent further leaks.
“Until they manage the growing crisis at the Commission, their staff will continue to leak their instructions to the NDC,” he added.
Dr. Boamah also accused the EC of being influenced by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He cautioned them against being used for dubious strategies, saying, “Don’t allow yourselves to be used by the failed and incompetent NPP to serve the ends of their dubious so-called STRATEGY!”
In his post, Dr. Boamah warned of lawful consequences if the alleged interference continues.
He reiterated the importance of impartiality and integrity in the electoral process, highlighting the dissatisfaction among the Commission’s staff as a significant issue that needs urgent attention.
