During the graduation ceremony of Naylor International SDA School in Tema, Mr. David Asante Debrah, Greater Accra Regional Manager of Adventist Schools, emphasized the critical role of nutrition in children’s academic performance.
Addressing parents and educators, Mr. Debrah urged them to ensure that children consume a nutritious breakfast at home before heading to school.
He highlighted that a child’s educational outcomes are significantly influenced by their dietary habits and stressed the importance of providing balanced meals to foster a disciplined and well-nurtured youth.
Mr. Debrah’s remarks were part of his broader appeal for parents to actively contribute to their children’s well-being, including their nutritional needs.
His call also extended to encouraging regular physical activity, which he cited as essential for maintaining overall health and enhancing academic performance.
The ceremony, attended by both teachers and parents, marked a milestone for the students transitioning to primary one.
Elder Eric Asamoah, the school’s Administrator, underscored the institution’s vision of preparing children for the future by focusing on their moral, mental, and physical development.
He praised the collaborative efforts between the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the school, which he attributed to the holistic development of the learners.
Additionally, Mrs. Stella Asiedu, the headmistress of Naylor International SDA School, advised parents to ensure their children’s well-being during the vacation period, particularly in light of the ongoing election year, to prevent potential issues.
Her guidance reflects a broader concern for maintaining a safe and supportive environment for students during times of transition.
