In a fiery address, former President John Dramani Mahama has called on Ghanaians to vote for transformative change in the December 7, 2024, presidential and parliamentary elections.
With just 150 days left, Mahama expressed confidence that the electorate would choose to end the nation’s suffering by supporting the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“The TIME for CHANGE is coming and like many Ghanaians, I am certain that on 7th December, you will vote for change to end the suffering of this nation,” Mahama declared in a statement release.
He emphasized the importance of unity in building a better Ghana, urging citizens to vote for an experienced, visionary, truthful, and humble servant as the next president.
Mahama did not mince words when criticizing the current administration.
He accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of arrogance, corruption, and greed, arguing that their misrule has led to severe socio-economic hardships.
“Building Ghana together means rejecting the arrogance, corruption, and greed of this non-performing NPP administration that only seeks to extend the misrule and socio-economic hardships imposed on us by the Akufo-Addo Bawumia government,” he stated.
Outlining his vision for a better Ghana, Mahama promised to fix the broken economy, create decent jobs for the youth through a 24-hour economy initiative, and establish a National Women’s Bank to support one million women in business.
He also pledged to investigate and punish corrupt NPP officials, abolish the COVID and E-levies, scrap ex-gratia, and drastically reduce the size of government to a maximum of sixty ministers.
“With your votes, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang and I will restore dignity, humility, vision, and experience to the presidency,” Mahama assured.
