The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has firmly dismissed recent accusations against the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government, which claim that state lands are being sold to individuals with ties to the administration.
Samuel Abu Jinapor, the sector minister, addressed these allegations during a press briefing, expressing his surprise at the unfounded claims.
According to the Minister, accusations suggest that lands at prime locations such as Cantonments and the W.E.B. DuBois Centre have been sold to government insiders and relatives of officials. Jinapor, however, was clear in his response, asserting that the current administration has not been involved in such transactions.
Jinapor further elaborated that these sales, if they occurred, did not take place under the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.
He emphasized that it is perplexing for individuals who were responsible for selling state lands to now turn around and accuse the Akufo-Addo government of such actions.
The Minister assured the public that the government remains committed to safeguarding state lands and ensuring that they are used for the benefit of all Ghanaians, rather than for private gain by a select few.
