President John Dramani Mahama has presented his third batch of ministerial nominees to Parliament for consideration and approval. The nominations include regional and ministerial appointments aimed at bolstering governance and addressing national priorities.
Among the regional nominees are Puozuing Charles Lwanga for Upper West, Joseph Addae Akwaboa for Bono, and Francis Owusu Antwi for Bono East.
The nominees for ministerial positions represent a blend of seasoned politicians and experts, reflecting a strategic approach to governance.
Key appointments include Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah for the Ministry of Defence, Samuel Nartey George for the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, and Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah for the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
The Acting Spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, made the announcement in an official statement on Tuesday.
“The President considered the competence, dedication, and the critical needs of the nation in making these nominations,” Felix Kwakye Ofosu explained. He emphasized the need for swift parliamentary approval to enable the appointees to begin their duties without delay.
Other notable appointments include Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak for the Ministry of Interior. These selections underscore the administration’s commitment to strengthening critical sectors such as security, diplomacy, labor, and environmental management.
“These appointments represent partnerships to advance Ghana’s development agenda,” Kwakye Ofosu added.
