The Dansoman Police have arrested the woman in connection with the alleged baby theft at the Mamprobi Polyclinic in Accra.
The suspect, who was allegedly dressed as a nurse, was captured on the facility’s CCTV cameras carrying the baby and leaving the premises with what appeared to be a sack.
The footage has since circulated widely on social media. The incident is said to have occurred on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, shortly after the mother delivered through a cesarean section. The baby was allegedly taken from the facility, triggering panic among staff and patients.
But the suspect has finally been arrested by the Dansoman Police. According to Hotfmghana.com’s checks, “The baby thief called her sister and informed her that she had given birth. She then asked her sister to come and see the baby”
But the thief’s sister, who had seen the news reports about a baby stolen from the Mamprobi Polyclinic, subsequently reported her own sister to the Dansoman Police, who acted swiftly to effect the arrest.
