Mohammed Kudus has returned to the Black Stars squad after a seven-month absence, while Thomas Partey has been left out of Carlos Queiroz’s latest selection for Ghana’s upcoming international assignments.

Kudus, who missed Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign through injury, has been included in the 24-man squad for the September international window.

The Tottenham Hotspur forward is expected to be available as the Black Stars begin their preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia.

Partey, who featured for Ghana at the 2026 World Cup, is the major absentee from the squad announced for the September 24 to October 4 window.

Queiroz has also handed call-ups to several players as he continues to shape his squad, including Lorient defender Nathaniel Adjei, Sassuolo midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana, New York Red Bulls midfielder Ronald Donkor and Brighton forward Ibrahim Osman.

In goal, the Portuguese coach has selected Hearts of Oak’s Benjamin Asare, Lawrence Ati-Zigi of St. Gallen and Joseph Anang of St. Patrick’s Athletic.

The defensive options are Gideon Mensah of FC Köln, Baba Rahman of PAOK, Jan Gyamerah of SV Elversberg, Derrick Luckassen of Red Star Belgrade, Nathaniel Adjei of Lorient, Jerome Opoku of Istanbul Basaksehir, Kojo Oppong-Peprah of Fenerbahce and Alexander Djiku of Spartak Moscow.

The midfield comprises Kwasi Sibo of Swehly Club, Caleb Yirenkyi of Coventry City, Augustine Boakye of Saint-Étienne, Ronald Donkor of New York Red Bull and Ibrahim Sulemana of Sassuolo.

Up front, Queiroz has named Christopher Bonsu Baah of Al Qadishiya, Ernest Nuamah of Lyon, Mohammed Kudus of Tottenham Hotspur, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku of Ipswich Town, Antoine Semenyo of Manchester City, Ibrahim Osman of Brighton, Prince Adu Kwabena of Viktoria Plzen and Jordan Ayew of Sheffield United.

The Black Stars will face Côte d’Ivoire in an AFCON qualifier on September 24 before taking on The Gambia on September 29.

Ghana will then round off the international window with a friendly against Morocco on October 4.

The return of Kudus gives Queiroz another attacking option as he prepares the Black Stars for the upcoming qualifiers, while Partey’s absence will be one of the major talking points surrounding the squad.
