Dr Philip Oti-Mensah, Chief Executive Officer of Universal Merchant Bank (UMB), was named Man of the Match after leading the UMB S.P.E.E.D STARS to a 6-2 victory over a side made up of former Black Stars players.
The exhibition match formed part of activities to officially introduce UMB’s new sponsorship of the Ghana Division One League.
Dr Oti-Mensah captained the UMB side as they produced an impressive display to beat the former Black Stars players in an entertaining encounter.
The result also provided a strong start to UMB’s new involvement in the country’s second-tier football competition.
UMB has taken over as the headline sponsor of the Ghana Division One League under a three-year agreement, replacing the previous bank sponsor.
The partnership is expected to support the development and promotion of the Division One League, which serves as an important pathway for players and clubs seeking to progress in Ghanaian football.
The exhibition fixture brought together UMB executives and former Black Stars players, creating a platform to officially showcase the bank’s latest investment in the sport.
Dr Oti-Mensah’s Man of the Match award capped an impressive outing for the UMB S.P.E.E.D STARS, who secured a four-goal victory over the former national team players.
