Exactly what happened?About the Global Citizen group and its festival:

Ghana was picked by the organizers partly because President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had shown interest in having it take place in Ghana.

He addressed in an interview on Hitz FM that the concert was part of efforts aimed at marketing tourism.

Akufo-Addo showed interest and won the bid.

He said that initially, the Global Citizen wanted to go to Nigeria for some good reasons, but we were the ones who won in the end.

The event headlined various articles online as the president of Ghana was booed by the crowd.

Fans at the event demonstrated their vexation as they were in a dilemma on why an entertainment show was affiliated politically.

Video:

The incident happened when Akufo Addo arrived on stage to deliver his welcome address.

The NPP has suggested that the opposition Party were behind the incident.

The opposition Party, NDC, has roundly denied stating that it was a sign of the ruling party’s growing loss of popularity.

Exactly what happened?

Thousands of global citizens were at the Black Star Square to witness the concert where many local and international artists performed that night.

As the host announced the president’s arrival to give his remarks, which happened to be a prepared speech that lasted over six minutes, the crowd started to boo at him.

The booing happened when he started his speech by saying: “The whole world is in Ghana today.”

The crowd started clapping loudly and chanting words: “away, away…,” the president, however, stayed the course and delivered his speech.
