The Diaspora African Forum (DAF) Embassy has officially launched a revolutionary mobile application designed to connect, inform, and empower over 380 million Africans in the global diaspora.

Led by H.E. Ambassador Dr. Erieka Bennett, Founder and Head of Mission for the DAF Embassy located at the historical W.E.B. Du Bois Center in Accra, Ghana, the initiative marks a significant digital leap forward in bridging the gap between the African continent and its historic 6th Region.

Recognized by the African Union (AU) as the continent’s 6th Region, the diaspora represents a vital constituency for Africa’s socio-economic growth, trade, and cultural preservation.

For years, the DAF Embassy—the first and only diplomatic mission dedicated solely to the African diaspora—has served as a physical gateway for returning diasporans from its headquarters in Accra.
Speaking on the vision behind the launch which took place at the DAF Embassy on Wednesday, October 7,2026, Ambassador Dr. Erieka Bennett emphasized the imperative of leveraging technology to unite Africans worldwide:

“The diaspora is an integral pillar of Africa’s present and future. Through this mobile platform, we are bringing the continent directly to the palms of over 380 million brothers and sisters across the globe—fostering community, keeping them informed, and providing a direct link back home…The app, which is available on both Google Play Store for Android and Apple App Store for iOS, can also be downloaded by scanning a QR code.” She said
The Director for DAF Youth Empowerment Training Center(DAFYETC) and Managing Director of Afriam, Mr. Kevin Williams who developed the app while speaking at the launch described the app as user-friendly and allows users to simply navigate and explore its features at the touch of button.
A key feature of the app is the Sankofa Wall, which highlights the charitable activities being undertaken by DAF and allows users to support them.
The app also provides a streamlined donation process where users can either scan a code or click on the donate button within the app, select an amount and enter their credit card details to contribute.
The app is currently available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store and is expected to boost engagement between Ghana and its over 380 million diasporans worldwide.
