The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has signed a three-year sponsorship agreement with Procus Ghana Limited, producers of Kivo products, to support grassroots football development through the introduction of the Kivo Juvenile U-17 Champions League.
The partnership agreement was officially signed on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the headquarters of the Ghana Football Association in Accra.
The initiative is expected to strengthen juvenile football development across the country by creating a structured platform for identifying and nurturing young talents.
Under the competition format, affiliated U-17 clubs from all regions will participate in regional qualifiers organised by their respective Regional Football Associations, with winners advancing to the national championship stage.
Beyond the competition, the partnership will also provide direct support to young footballers through the distribution of jerseys, football boots, and other sporting equipment to aid player development.
Speaking on behalf of GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, GFA Vice President Mark Addo described the partnership as a major step towards securing the future of Ghana football.
“At the Ghana Football Association, we firmly believe that sustainable football success begins at the grassroots. Every football legend often starts as a young boy or girl with a dream, passion and opportunity. This competition seeks to create exactly that opportunity,” he said.
He further commended Procus Ghana Limited for backing the association’s vision to develop football from the grassroots level.
“We are grateful that this partnership goes beyond competition, with support including jerseys, football boots and sports equipment that will directly benefit the development of these young talents across the country,” he added.
Head of Marketing at Procus Ghana Limited, Evans Kwofie, said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to youth empowerment and sports development in Ghana.
“Today marks an important moment for Procus Ghana Ltd and the Kivo brand as we officially partner with the Ghana Football Association to support the growth and future of football in Ghana,” he stated.
According to him, football continues to serve as a source of hope, inspiration and unity for many young Ghanaians.
“At Kivo, we strongly believe in the heritage of Ghana, the power of community, and the limitless potential of young Ghanaians. Football is more than a sport in our country — it is part of our identity, our culture, and a source of hope and inspiration for millions,” he added.
