The Paramount Queen Mother of Abura Asebu Kwamankese (AAK), doubles as the President of the Queen Mothers’ Association of Kwamankese, Nana Ekua Enyima III, has allegedly warned to castrate any man found defiling or impregnating young ladies in her Traditional Area.
According to her, men should be blamed for being the cause of teenage pregnancy in the country, adding that “in order to reduce teenage pregnancy and to serve as a deterrent to others; anyone found guilty of having sexual affair with any student or young lady should be castrated.”
Speaking to the media, she was very serious about the issue and bemoaned that some of the students found it difficult to get money to buy sanitary pads during their menstruation period; hence some men take conditional advantage of that to sleep with the young girls.
Nana Ekua Enyima III further called on the Queen Mothers’ Association in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese (AAK) of the Central Region to also take this opportunity to help reduce the rate of teenage pregnancy in the communities by providing young girls with sanitary pads.
The District NCCE Director, Mrs Ellen Osei Arkoh also urged the female students to be very careful with the men whenever they start touching them.
“Be bold to tell them you don’t like that.”
She emphasized that the rate of teenage pregnancy in the district is taking out of hand, therefore, bold decisions must be taken by the Queen Mothers in the area to help to reduce the menace.
She lamented, “a lot of students were pregnant when it was time to sit for their final examination which is not encouraging in the Traditional Area.
