The Ghana Police Service says Harold Norman, the husband of Ghanaian fashion icon Rosemond Akua Adobea, popularly known as Nana Akua Addo, will be arraigned immediately after his discharge from hospital.
The assurance follows the circulation of videos and images on social media reportedly involving Nana Akua Addo and her child, with some footage appearing to show the fashion icon with visible injuries following an alleged physical altercation.
Separate footage purportedly shows her child being subjected to physical violence.
In a statement dated Wednesday, October 7, 2026, the Police said the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) received a petition from Nana Akua Addo on August 20, alleging that her husband had subjected her to physical, emotional and economic abuse.
Following receipt of the petition, Harold Norman was arrested at his residence on August 27 to assist with investigations.
He was subsequently cautioned and, on August 29, granted Police enquiry bail with two sureties while investigations continued.
The Police said he was due to appear in court on Wednesday, October 7, but his lawyer notified investigators that he had been admitted to hospital and was unable to appear.
“Investigators from DOVVSU have visited the said hospital to verify the claim and are monitoring the situation to ensure he is arraigned immediately upon discharge from the hospital,” Police said.
The CID and the Gender Ministry are also working to ensure the provision of social welfare support for Nana Akua Addo and her child.
