The National Theatre of Ghana joined forces with the University of Ghana’s School of Performing Arts to celebrate International Dance Day on April 29, 2026.

This global observance, which champions dance as a universal language for unity and cultural expression, was brought to life through the inaugural “All Dance Carnival 2026”.
Spearheaded by the Department of Dance Studies, the carnival transformed the Legon campus into a stage for both traditional and contemporary movement.

The program featured a high-energy lineup of live performances, choreography showcases, and interactive workshops.
Students and professional performers delivered electrifying routines that blended rich Ghanaian heritage with modern global influences.
University leadership emphasised that the carnival is more than just entertainment; it serves as a vital platform for interdisciplinary engagement and cultural pride.

By fostering a sense of community through the arts, the All Dance Carnival is set to become a flagship event, positioning the University of Ghana as a premier hub for dance education and performance in Africa.
