The newly elected executives of the Ghana Badminton Association (GBA) have paid a courtesy call on the leadership of the National Sports Authority (NSA) to deepen institutional cooperation and enhance the development of badminton in the country.
The visit took place on Thursday, November 20, at the Accra Sports Stadium. The delegation was led by GBA President Evans Yeboah and included Hon. George Loh, Mrs. Evelyn Nsiah Asare, Madam Lily Vesta Nyarko, Prof. Emmanuel Sarpong, Mr. Alidha Barry, Ms. Princess Sefakor, Ahmed Abdul Samad, Ernest Adofo, Abu Iyman and other newly elected members.
The team was received by NSA Director-General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, his Deputy Veronica Commey, and the Authority’s Chief Operating Officer. The NSA leadership commended the Association for its steady progress over the years, noting that badminton continues to show strong potential and improving performance at the national level.
The Authority also stressed the need for closer collaboration as sports administration undergoes structural reforms, adding that federations that demonstrate consistent growth require increased support to sustain their progress.
The GBA delegation outlined its vision for the new mandate, including strengthening partnerships, improving organisational structures, and expanding training and development programmes. The Association also briefed the NSA on its activities for the year, as well as upcoming major events.
The GBA is preparing for the African Youth Games in Angola next month and the National Championship scheduled for December 26–27 at Borteyman, which will feature teams from all 16 regions.
The meeting marked an important step in renewing cooperation between the two institutions as the new GBA board begins its term with a focus on youth development, improved competitiveness, and strategic stakeholder engagement.
