The National Peace Council will host a crucial peace pact signing ceremony today, Thursday, November 28, involving all political parties and their presidential candidates ahead of the December 7 elections.

The agreement seeks to ensure a peaceful electoral process, urging candidates to conduct their campaigns in ways that promote national unity and stability.

Rev. Dr. Ernest Adu-Gyamfi, Chairman of the National Peace Council, has expressed optimism that all parties will attend.

Speaking to Citi FM, he confirmed that candidates had received copies of the pact for review, with no negative feedback reported. Preparations for the event are underway to ensure a smooth signing.

However, doubts linger over the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) participation. Party Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah previously stated the NDC’s concerns, demanding the inclusion of signatures from key government officials, including the President and the Inspector-General of Police.

It remains uncertain whether the NDC will join today’s event.
