Member of Parliament for Pru East, Hon. Emmanuel Kwaku Boam, has sponsored the rehabilitation of the Brekentey–Driver Akura feeder road to improve transportation and ease movement for residents and businesses in the constituency.
The road, which serves as a vital link between several communities and Yeji, had deteriorated over the years, forcing motorists and residents to rely on it as an alternative route, particularly during periods when the main road became difficult to use.
According to the MP, the poor condition of the feeder road made travel especially challenging during the rainy season, disrupting the movement of people, farm produce and essential services.
“With the deteriorating condition of the main road, many communities increasingly relied on this feeder road as an alternative. During the rainy season, however, it often became nearly impassable, making it difficult for people, goods and essential services to move freely,” Hon. Boam said.
He noted that the reshaping of the road forms part of his commitment to improving road infrastructure and enhancing connectivity across the Pru East Constituency.
Hon. Boam expressed optimism that the intervention would improve accessibility, facilitate trade, support local economic activities and provide long-term relief for residents who depend on the road daily.
The Brekentey–Driver Akura feeder road links several farming and trading communities to Yeji, the district capital, and is expected to improve the transportation of agricultural produce and access to social services, particularly during the rainy season.
