The family of late Ghanaian actress Beverly Afaglo has appealed to the public to stop spreading falsehoods and speculation surrounding her death, as tributes continue to pour in for the actress
In a statement shared by her elder sister, Royal Elorm, on behalf of the family, they expressed concern over what they described as “false narratives” circulating on social media regarding Beverly’s health, treatment and the circumstances leading to her passing.
“We, the family of Beverly Afaglo, kindly ask everyone to please stop sharing and promoting inaccurate stories and speculation surrounding Beverly’s passing,” the statement said.
The family further appealed for compassion and sensitivity during what they described as an extremely difficult period, urging the public to allow the actress to be remembered for “her strength, courage, and the love she had for her children and family, not misinformation and rumours.”
News of Beverly Afaglo’s death broke on Sunday after her husband, Choirmaster, born Eugene Kwadwo Baah, confirmed the sad development in an emotional social media tribute.
“My heart is shattered beyond words over the death of my beloved wife Beverly Afaglo,” he wrote. “It would have been just like four more days to your birthday, but I guess the Lord wanted to celebrate with you, so He called you.”
Describing her as his source of strength and happiness, the musician added that her memory would forever remain with him.
Born on May 28, 1983, Beverly Afaglo established herself as one of Ghana’s recognisable actresses, earning admiration for her vibrant personality and strong screen presence.
Her death, which comes just days before her birthday, has left many in the entertainment industry and beyond in mourning.
