German-born Marie-Claire Rupio, who happens to be the wife of the late Black Star’s player Christian Atsu Twasam has arrived in Ghana for the final burial rites of her late husband in a video sighted by hotfmghana.
According to the reports on Kofi Adoma’s TV, the spouse of the late Hatayspor player arrived at the Kotoko International Airport on Thursday, 16 March 2023.
Rupio was accompanied by her mother and the children of the deceased player together with other family members.
Thousands of fans are paying their respects to Christian Atsu Twasam as part of his final funeral rites today in Accra.
The body of the 2015 African Cup of Nations’ best player is at the forecourt of the statement where Ghanaians from all walks of life are paying their final respects.
Christian Atsu’s body was discovered dead from the rubble of the building he was residing in, on 18th February following the earthquake that occurred in Turkey on 6th February 2023.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is expected to take his turn filing past at 8.45 am.
Some dignitaries present at the ceremony include the Chief of Staff, Frema Osei Opare, presidential aspirant Kennedy Agyapong and the Director of the Ghana Prisons Service.
