Today Marks 5 Years Ghana Music Lost A Promising Star, Ebony Reigns

Today, Wednesday, 8th February 2023, marks exactly five years after a promising Ghanaian female musician Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng professionally referred to as Ebony Reigns, passed away in a fatal accident. It was a Thursday in 2018.

The Ghanaian singer died in a fatal car accident that claimed the life of her friend, Franky Kuri and a military officer Atsu Vondee, who were all in a jeep with her whilst she was returning from Sunyani to Accra.

Ebony’s popular hits included Hustle, Poison, Kupe, Date your father, Maame Hwe and many more.

She was signed to Rufftown Records & Midas Touch Inc. and had just released her debut album Bonyfied to critical acclaim.

The Rufftown signee died a few days before her 21st birthday.

Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, known by her stage name Ebony Reigns still holds the record as the First-ever Ghanaian female artiste to have won the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

The Posthumous award was received by management in 2018.

 May her soul and that of the other occupants rest in peace. May God give their families the fortitude to bear the loss.
