Former Captain of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan popularly known as Baby Jet has shown sympathy to the family of his deceased colleague, Christian Atsu.
In the video sighted by Hotfmghana.com, Asamoah Gyan was accompanied by other ex-players of the Ghana senior national team, Agyeman Badu & Baffour Gyan.
Atsu was born in Ada Foah, Greater Accra Region. He grew up in extreme poverty. He was one of ten siblings, including his twin sister, while his father was a fisherman and farmer on the banks of the Volta River.
On 6 February 2023, Atsu went missing in the immediate aftermath of the 2023 Turkey–Syria earthquake.
On 14 February, Atsu’s agent, Nana Sechere, confirmed two pairs of his shoes had been found, but that the Hatayaspor player himself had still not been found.
On 18 February, confirmation was received by his agent that his body was recovered from the rubble of the building he was residing in. News outlets reported his death at approximately 6 a.m. GMT.
Meanwhile, the Ghanaian players have donated packs of water to the family of the late Christian Atsu Twasam.
It was a delightful moment for fans of his then-current club in Turkey, Hatayspor, after a magical freekick goal by Christian Atsu in the added time of the second half saved the club from relegation.
