Sammy Gyamfi, the Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has vehemently denied allegations of misusing party funds for a lavish trip to Miami with his wife, threatening legal action against those responsible for spreading the falsehood.
In an interview on Adom TV, Gyamfi dismissed the reports as “ridiculous and purely nonsensical,” providing a detailed account of his whereabouts during the alleged period.
He cited attending funerals and hosting party events as evidence of his activities, refuting claims of being in Miami recently.
“The video circulating is likely from one of my past trips in the aftermath of my marriage, not a recent visit to Miami,” Gyamfi clarified.
He expressed frustration over the allegations and vowed to sue the instigators for defamation.
“These are just lies from demented minds,” Gyamfi asserted, questioning the timing and motives behind the false accusations.
He highlighted his busy schedule, including attending funerals and official party engagements, to debunk claims of being in Miami for an extended period.
Gyamfi criticized the spread of misinformation and attributed it to “unemployed NPP foot soldiers,” suggesting they were paid to tarnish his reputation.
Despite acknowledging the challenges of public scrutiny, he affirmed his commitment to seeking justice through legal means.
“I’ve never been to the hotel they mentioned, I know nothing about it,” Gyamfi stated firmly, underscoring his innocence and readiness to challenge the allegations in court.
He emphasized the need for accountability in public discourse and urged responsible reporting to avoid damaging reputations unjustly.
