Ahafo Regional Minister George Yaw Boakye has taken a major step to strengthen regional security by officially initiating the construction of military barracks in Sankore, Asunafo South District, and Kenyase, Asutifi North District.
This project, funded by Newmont Ghana, aims to address rising security concerns in the Ahafo region.
The new military barracks will provide a strong security presence to deter criminal activities and ensure the safety of local residents.
Minister Boakye emphasized that the facilities will include modern living quarters, training facilities, and administrative offices, creating a comprehensive environment for the military personnel stationed there. The construction is slated to begin in the coming months.
Nana Appiah Kubi III, the paramount Chief of Sankore Traditional Council, expressed his satisfaction with the project, noting that it fulfills a long-standing request from the community.
The chief’s enthusiasm reflects the broader community’s support for initiatives that enhance their safety and security.
