The Nkoranza Youth for Mrs. Lordina Mahama has come forward to clear the name of Lordina Mahama, former First Lady of Ghana, regarding her alleged involvement in the DKM microfinance issue.
The youth group asserts that Lordina Mahama has no ownership or shares in DKM, contrary to the false propaganda spread by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2016.
According to the Nkoranza Youth for Lordina Mahama, led by Mustapha Muhammed, the Bono East Regional Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the NPP had claimed that Lordina Mahama and her husband, John Dramani Mahama, were involved in the collapse of DKM and used deposited monies to fund the NDC’s 2016 campaign.
However, these claims have been debunked by the youth group, who emphasize that Lordina Mahama had no connection to the financial institution.
The Nkoranza Youth highlighted that, under John Dramani Mahama’s leadership, the NDC initiated processes to refund monies to affected customers. They accused the NPP of taking advantage of the situation to spread lies and propaganda for political gain.
Mustapha Muhammed urged the public to disregard the false claims and recognize Lordina Mahama’s innocence in the DKM microfinance saga.
In their statement, the youth group called on Ghanaians to see through the political machinations and appreciate the efforts made by the NDC to address the financial crisis caused by the collapse of DKM.
They reiterated their support for Lordina Mahama and condemned the NPP’s attempt to tarnish her reputation with baseless allegations.
