The Fanteakwa South District Assembly has expressed pride in its developmental achievements and outlined ambitious plans for the future.

During the maiden annual Town Hall Meeting held at Nsutam, Mr. Anim Benjamin, the Physical Planning Officer of Fanteakwa South District, presented an overview of the Assembly’s projects.

These include the construction of Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds, schools, and the drilling of boreholes, among others.

Mr. Benjamin detailed the funding sources for these projects, which encompass Internally Generated Funds (IGF), the District Assemblies Common Fund, and various grants.

He emphasized the Assembly’s commitment to utilizing these funds effectively to enhance the district’s infrastructure and services.

Speaking on behalf of the District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr. Emmanuel Tetteh Paddy, the Presiding Member (PM) of Fanteakwa South, praised the chiefs and residents for their support. He encouraged all residents to hold the Assembly accountable, highlighting the importance of community involvement in governance.

Mr. Maanu Francis Fenadino, a Senior Trainer for Advocates Community Alternatives (ACA), explained that ACA, a non-profit organization, has a long-standing partnership with the Fanteakwa South District.

This partnership facilitates the Assembly’s efforts to maintain transparency and accountability through regular Town Hall Meetings.

During the open forum, residents commended the organizers for their efforts and urged the Assembly to intensify its fight against illegal mining (Galamsey) within the district.

The community’s feedback reflects a collaborative spirit and a shared commitment to the district’s development and well-being.
