Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged to ease the challenges faced by spare parts dealers if elected in the December 7 general elections.

Speaking at Abossey Okai, the nation’s largest spare parts hub, he outlined plans to introduce a flat-rate import duty system for all imported goods, aimed at fostering growth and sustainability for businesses in the sector.

During his tour of the Greater Accra Region, Dr. Bawumia highlighted the critical role of spare parts dealers in Ghana’s economy. He assured the community that the proposed flat-rate system would simplify import processes, reduce costs, and ultimately enhance profitability for traders.

The initiative forms part of his broader agenda to support small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) across the country.

Dr. Bawumia further appealed to the people of Abossey Okai to support his bid for the presidency and the NPP’s efforts to retain power. He emphasized the importance of their votes in advancing policies tailored to alleviate economic burdens and improve trade conditions.

The visit to Abossey Okai was a key stop in Dr. Bawumia’s Greater Accra regional campaign, where he engaged various stakeholders to share his vision for Ghana.
