The GaDangme State will mark a historic milestone this year as communities, traditional leaders, professionals, investors, and members of the global diaspora gather to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the Katamanso War through the highly anticipated Katamanso Heroes Night 2026.
Organised by Q4 in collaboration with KAA-NATION and REGALIS, the event will take place on Friday, August 7, 2026, at the John Wesley Hall in Akoto Lante, Accra.

The celebration aims to honour the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of the men and women whose actions shaped the future of the GaDangme people two centuries ago.
The Battle of Katamanso, fought in 1826, remains one of the most significant events in Ghanaian history. Beyond its military significance, it represents a story of identity, determination, and the enduring spirit of communities that stood together during a defining moment in the nation’s development.
Katamanso Heroes Night seeks to transform this historic anniversary into a platform for education, cultural preservation, and community empowerment. Organisers describe the event as an opportunity to celebrate both the heroes of the past and the future leaders who will carry the GaDangme legacy forward.
Guests will experience an evening rich in culture and tradition, featuring historical storytelling sessions, warrior group presentations by the Apeja Asafo, performances by the renowned Ga Royal Adowafoi cultural group, appearances by the Kolomashie Giants of Kwabenya, poetry, live music, and goodwill messages from distinguished guests and community leaders.

According to the organisers, the event also carries a strong social impact mission. Proceeds and support generated through the initiative will contribute toward educational opportunities for brilliant but financially disadvantaged GaDangme students, helping to develop the next generation of leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, and innovators.
More than one thousand participants are expected to attend, including traditional rulers, business leaders, investors, professionals, families, and members of the diaspora. The gathering follows the annual Twins Festival celebrations, creating an opportunity for visitors from across Ghana and around the world to participate in a broader celebration of GaDangme culture and heritage.
Speaking on the significance of the event, organisers emphasised that Katamanso Heroes Night is not only about remembering the past but also about building a stronger future through unity, education, and collective responsibility.

As Ghana continues to celebrate its rich cultural diversity and history, Katamanso Heroes Night 2026 promises to be a landmark event that honours the sacrifices of previous generations while inspiring future ones to preserve, promote, and advance the legacy of the GaDangme people.
