Sports betting company betPawa has reinforced its partnership with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) with a support package worth more than $300,000 to aid preparations for upcoming international competitions, including the FIFA World Cup and the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The latest intervention forms part of the company’s long-standing relationship with the GFA, which has evolved into one of the most impactful private-sector partnerships in Ghanaian football.
Over the years, betPawa has played a key role in supporting the local game through sponsorship of domestic competitions and the introduction of its Locker Room Bonus initiative, a programme that rewards players directly after victories in the Ghana Premier League and the Women’s Premier League.
The initiative has so far paid out more than $500,000 to players, providing much-needed financial support to athletes across the country.
Speaking on the renewed commitment, betPawa’s Head of Local Marketing and Corporate Social Responsibility, Borah Omary Ndanyungu, said the partnership with the GFA is founded on a shared commitment to advancing Ghana football.
“Partnerships matter most when they endure beyond a single season or a single competition. Our relationship with Ghana football has been built on trust, shared ambition and measurable impact. We are proud to continue walking this journey with the GFA as Ghana pursues success on the continental and world stage,” he said.
GFA Vice President Mark Addo welcomed the support, describing betPawa as a valued partner whose contribution continues to have a positive impact on the development of the game.
According to him, the support comes at a crucial time as the Black Stars and Black Queens intensify preparations for major assignments on the international stage.
“Today’s announcement sends a clear message that Ghana football has partners who believe in its future. To the Black Stars and Black Queens, this support is not merely a reward but a vote of confidence in your ability, character and capacity to make Ghana proud,” he stated.
He further thanked betPawa for its sustained investment in Ghana football, noting that strong corporate partnerships remain essential to the growth of the sport and the welfare of players.
With preparations underway for key continental and global competitions, the support is expected to strengthen the GFA’s efforts to ensure Ghana’s national teams are adequately resourced for the challenges ahead.
The latest package further underlines betPawa’s commitment to Ghana football and its growing role in supporting the long-term development of the game.
