Veteran actor Pete Edochie has revealed he is battling a health challenge that has made walking difficult for him.
Edochie disclosed this during a visit to ailing Ghanaian actor Emmanuel Armah in Accra on Thursday.
In a video from the visit, now trending online, the 79-year-old actor said he has been experiencing swelling in different parts of his body.
“Sitting here, I’m not very well myself. Walking is a problem for me now, but I still have hope that I will recover. Sometimes I get up, and parts of my body are swollen. After some time, it goes down again. Like my hand is swollen now,” he said.
The veteran actor said he prays that God takes his life when his time comes, rather than allow him to become a burden to others.
“I just keep asking God, ‘You are the author of life. Whenever you feel it’s time for me to go, just take me; don’t let me bother the people who are around me,” he said
Edochie was in Ghana to visit Armah, who has been ill for nearly 11 years, and prayed for his recovery while offering financial support.
“It is my belief that you will recover one day,” he told him.
Armah’s wife, Stella Amina Armah, said her husband’s health problems started while he was working in the United States, where he had undiagnosed high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
She said he is currently undergoing physiotherapy and daily massages
