Canadian-born musician, Drake, wins $ 2.7 million after placing two huge bets on Israel Adesanya to defeat Alex Pereira at UFC 287.

Adesanya, a Nigerian-born New Zealander, reclaimed the 185lb title just five months after losing it to his long-standing adversary Pereira, who had previously defeated him twice in kickboxing.

Meanwhile, the Ghanaian Government immediately taxes $270,000 should the Betting and Lottery Taxation bill be passed if the Drake-like winner staked in the country.

The government of Ghana is set to introduce a new 10% tax on all betting, games and lottery wins.

Also, MyJoyonline published that the Government is expecting that the implementation of these bills will aid it in generating the revenue needed to secure the IMF deal, as well as improve the revenue situation of the country.

The components include a 10% withholding tax at the point of payout deduction from winnings from lotteries, sports betting, and games of chance.

However, social media users and punters have criticised the government’s findings on handling the economic crises bestowing the country.
