It’s Only The Insane That Will Link Offinso Paramountcy To Bribery – Offinso Youth Charges
A group in Offinso known as Concerned Youth Of Offinso has jumped to the defence of the Queen Mother for the town, Nana Ama Serwaa Nyarko over allegation that she sold the position of Paramount Chief to former GNPC boss Dr. KK Sarpong.
In a press statement forwarded exclusively to Hotfmghana.com , the group said:
“We the concerned youth of offinso write with deep regret about the lackadaisical behavior of some few members who claim to be royal members of the great offinso royal stool.
There have been a series of attacks by these unscrupulous persons on our dear queen mother Nana Ama Serwaa Nyarko – the Omanhemaa for the offinso traditional council.
The group with so much disrespect has alleged that,our queen mother has sold the position of omanhene to the former GNPC boss Dr.KK sarpong.What the so called group have failed to understand is that,Dr.KK sarpong is a royal from the ahyirem. and fully qualify for the position.
Further more,Dr Kk Sarpong belongs to the Asona royal family from offinso not Beposo as they claim.He was a member of the committee for the offinso state book launched in some years back by the late offinsomanhene Nana wiafe Akenten 111.
In that book,Dr.K.K Sarpong’s family tree has been indicated as a royal from offinso not Beposo…It is interesting to note that,people who called themselves as royal members will attack our queen mother with such impunity, lies and propaganda to twist facts about offinso chieftaincy matters.
We therefore call on these people to accord Nanahemaa with the needed respect and apologize to our kingmakers…We thank them for their wise and Godly decision…As the youth group who are fighting for development, we are fully in support of our kingmakers for their selected royal member for the position.God bless Nanahemaa ,God bless offinsoman, God bless Asantemem….”.
