The manager of multifaceted Ghanaian entertainer Kwadwo Nkansah—popularly known as Lil Win, Ray Moni —has launched a scathing attack on entertainment pundit Baaba Cann over her critical remarks regarding Nigerian star Destiny Etiko’s role in the upcoming movie ‘A Journey to Africa’.
‘A Journey to Africa, an ambitious film project currently being produced by Lil Win, features a stellar pan-African cast including legendary Nigerian screen icons Kanayo O. Kanayo, Patience Ozokwor, Destiny Etiko, and Mike Ezuruonye.
Despite still being in production, the movie has already generated massive buzz and fierce debate across the entertainment industry. The current controversy was ignited by Baaba Cann during a discussion on Neat FM’s Entertainment Show, hosted by Ola Michael.
Baaba Cann publicly criticized the project after viewing leaked behind-the-scenes footage – where she argued that Destiny Etiko’s assigned role failed to align with the core themes and setting of the film.
Responding swiftly in a fiery Facebook post, Ray Moni—known in real life as Richard Amankwah—warned the pundit to stop exposing her ignorance on national airwaves.
“How can any rational media practitioner pass judgment on a project after seeing only behind-the-scenes footage?” Moni wrote. “What you are looking at is merely the process, not the final film.”
He strongly defended the choice of cast, emphasizing the star power and expertise involved in the production.
“For the record, the cast includes some of the finest talent in Africa right now. Destiny Etiko is a phenomenal actress. If her work isn’t your preference, that’s fine—millions of fans feel otherwise,” he stated..Lil Win is currently achieving feats your favorite actors can’t match, yet instead of commending his vision, you choose to spew ‘nyanyanpu’ [nonsense],” he added,
Ray Moni concluded by urging critics to hold their final verdicts until the movie hits the screens.
