The Majority in Parliament has made an appeal to the Minority to reconsider their decision to boycott the vetting of Deputy Minister-designate for Trade and Industry, Kofi Ahenkorah Marfo.
The Minority had announced their intention to abstain from the vetting process, citing current economic challenges and advocating for a reduction in government size rather than expansion.
In response, the Majority Caucus issued a statement dated Tuesday, July 2, describing the reasons behind the boycott as “regrettable” and urging the Minority to review their stance.
Emphasizing the importance of maintaining uninterrupted governance, especially during difficult times, the Majority underscored the government’s ongoing efforts to engage with various sectors and stakeholders to address national challenges.
They encouraged the Minority to participate in the vetting process to ensure effective functioning of government affairs.
