MUSIGA To Host Fundraiser For AMWEF

The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) is working on a special show to raise funds for it’s Ageing Musicians Welfare Fund (AMWEF).

Traditionally the Union hosts a Presidential Grand Ball every year to support AMWEF. However the coronavirus pandemic gas affected the plans to host the Grand Ball after the 2019 edition which had President Nana Addo in attendance.

The fund raising show which is likely to be in late November will feature a host of artistes from across genres.  A MUSIGA source indicated that although there was an initial plan to host the Presidential Grand Ball, the current situation with Covid-19 does not allow for an event of that scale hence the consideration of a scaled down event which would serve the purpose of raising funds.

Meanwhile, Collins Selassie Attigah, an Events and Productions Assistant with MUSIGA says, “Any fund raising event the Union decides to do this year will be on the same level as all the previous balls in terms of finesse and quality”  MUSIGA’s Presidential Grand Ball was started in 2013.
