The National Theatre of Ghana has honoured legendary playwright James Ebo Whyte and past workers of the Theatre for their selfless and dedicated service spanning several decades
The recognition celebrated the former workers’ roles in shaping the institution’s artistic, technical, and administrative operations.

The occasion was the inaugural Our Own Awards, a special ceremony instituted to celebrate former staff members and legendary contributors whose decades of selfless service laid the foundation for performing arts in Ghana.
The highlight of the night was the presentation of the Distinguished Achievement Award in Theatre to legendary playwright, director, and CEO of Roverman Productions, James Ebo Whyte (affectionately known as Uncle Ebo Whyte).
