NUGS Commends Government For The Tuition-Free Tertiary Education Promise

The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) has welcomed the decision by the government to give scholarship to eligible students who qualify for tertiary level of education after completing their West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination, WASSCE, exams.

The Ghana Scholarship Secretariat today, 1st December 2020 announced the opening of applications for the newly graduated Free SHS students across the country.
Speaking at a press briefing in Accra, the Registrar of the Secretariat, Mr Kingsley Agyemang mentioned that, the online application portal is opened from today 1st December, 2020 to enable all Free SHS students who graduated not long ago apply to further their education to the tertiary.
This move is in line with the directive by President Akufo-Addo prior to the impressive performance by the Free SHS students in the just ended WASSCE exams NUGS in a statement said it is satisfied, confident and recognise that in terms of education, the NPP government has consistently rolled policies which are well-informed and largely well-implemented and, therefore, expressed gratitude to the government.
