An Ex-bodyguard of the late former President of Ghana Jerry John Rawlings has revealed that, the late Statesman should’ve rather been a Pastor.
The first President under the fourth Republic, JJ Rawlings died on Thursday Morning at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital after a short illness.
Commiserating and eulogizing the late founder of the Opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) in an exclusive interview with Hotfmghana.com under strict anonymity from his base abroad , the ex-bodyguard and ex-Soldier expressed shock and described him as someone who should’ve been a Pastor.
“I’m in total disbelieve that My boss is gone. Rawlings was a great man….his ideologies were beyond human imaginations … per what I saw while working with him, he should’ve rather been a Pastor…He was very passionate about the ordinary people…he really wanted to save his people… He became a Military man just to save his people”, The teary ex-bodyguard told Hotfmghana.com
Shedding uncontrollable tears, the ex-bodyguard added,” I quite remember we were traveling to one of the villages and one of our vehicles hit and killed a goat. My boss sorrowfully ordered us to stop, searched for the owner and gave him money. He was very guilty…I really enjoyed working with him and his great Family”.
According to him, the late Former President stood for rule of law and accountability, and per what he stood for, his death should rather be a unification machinery.
