Veteran broadcaster and host of “AY3 HU” social programme on Accra-based Hot 93.9FM , Nana Ampofo has called on the Ghana Police Service to check every ambulance at their various checkpoints.

A viral video shows a seemingly new ambulance with the registration number GV 537-20 under the one Constituency one Ambulance initiative by the government stationed at Sege being loaded with bags of cement by some young men.

This act has received elephantine backlash within the public domain -as the service is being criticized for what is being described as negligence.

But in a statement forwarded exclusively to Hotfmghana.com, NAS explained that the Vehicle was one of the Ambulances being fixed for minor faults by the supplier before it will be received and integrated into the National Ambulance Service fleet.

Expressing his view on the issue on his show ,”Ay3 HU” ,Wednesday, Nana Ampofo without mincing words condemned the act by indicating that:

“If an ambulance can be used to carry cement, Ceo professor Zachariah, the thing happened in March and you didn’t deem it prudent to arrest the culprits , then am urging the Ghana Police service any ambulance that will get to the barrier whether emergency or not”.

According to overly fumed Nana Ampofo,”it must be searched because they may be carrying illegal goods like weed, Cocaign… this act has proven that Ambulances are being used for smuggling”.

“Ay3 HU” is a social programme which is aired every weekday from 9am to 12pm on Hot 93.9FM
