On Tuesday, the Ghana Police Service released a statement about the commencement of an investigation into the alleged behaviour of colleagues in the institution built with integrity.

In the Statement, the police raised concern about the disturbing audio circulating on social media as one acclaimed doctor described an incident he encountered with the service’s personnel.

According to Patrick Asiedu the acclaimed medical doctor, he was stopped by the police for an inspection and accused the police of planting illicit drugs in his vehicle.

However, Patrick Asiedu has been arrested by police and accused of fabricating the narration he recorded and shared on social media.

A preliminary police investigation has established that he is not a medical doctor as he claimed in the audio but an Uber driver.

He is currently in police custody.

The Service with Integrity in a press statement Wednesday night said it has been confirmed that he is indeed called Patrick Asiedu but the narrative he recorded and shared on social media in audio did not happen.

“The investigations show that the entire story narrated in the audio tape is false and a total fabrication by the suspect.”

“The supposed military intervention and the alleged fight between the Police officers and the Military described in such dramatic detail in the audio tape are all false and a figment of the suspect’s imagination,” the Police Stated in a late Wednesday release.
