A 45-year-old woman who had gone missing for three days has finally been rescued from a public pit latrine at Enyan Asempenyin in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region.
Reports made on Hot FM’s mid-morning program, ‘AYƐ HU’ indicate that she was rescued after a young man who had gone to use the public toilet on Monday evening, August 29, 2022, heard the voice of a woman screaming for help.
The young man rushed and informed the community about the incident.
The Breman Essiam Fire Station personnel arrived at the incident. The fire officers managed to rescue the situation after they broke the hole at the top to create a wider opening for her to come out.
The Service Commander was surprised as to how the woman could fall into a ’12-feet pit latrine’ because the hole was very narrow.
The woman who was travelling was rescued with her bag containing money.
The victim has been wordless after the incident.
The victim received treatment at the Ajumako Government Hospital, while the Ajumako District Police Command commences an investigation.
The traditional elders are also looking into the situation.
