Atsu’s family and some relevant stakeholders will meet the president of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, on Monday to discuss the final burial rites of the late Black Stars player, Christian Atsu Twasam, which will be made public after approvals, the sports minister reveals.

“We are going to call on the President on Monday and once the plans that have been discussed are approved, we will make it public.” Mustapha Ussif the sports minister disclosed via Citi Sports.

According to the minister, once the meeting with the President of Ghana as discussed with family members becomes successful, sympathizers of the late footballer will not be hesitated to be informed.

Meanwhile, the venue of the one-week observation for the deceased player will be held at the Adjiringanor Astro-Turf on March 4, 2023.

According to the Spokesperson for the family, Robert Ani, the decision was made after the Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif along with officials of the Ghana Football Association, met with the family on Friday.

“It’s been agreed that on 4th March, the One Week Observation will be held at the Adjiringanor Astro-Turf,” Robert Ani said.

Christian Atsu lost his life in the devastating Earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on February 6.

The remains of the footballer were not found after the incident until his body was pulled out of the rubble 12 days after the disaster struck.

Christian Atsu’s mortal remains arrived in Ghana on Sunday, February 20.

Ghana’s Vice President Mahamadu Bawumia stated at the arrival of the corpse that the state will give the former Black Stars midfielder a befitting burial.
