A devastating accident at Suame-Maakro in the Ashanti region has resulted in the loss of four lives and left eleven others severely injured.
The incident occurred when a cargo truck destined for Burkina Faso, bearing registration number WR-184-N, collided with a ‘trotro’ mini bus registered as AS-3600-17.
According to Adomonline reports, the collision occurred as the cargo truck reportedly veered out of its lane, striking the mini bus head-on with fifteen passengers on board.
The impact of the collision caused the mini bus to overturn multiple times, resulting in immediate fatalities and severe injuries among the passengers.
Two individuals tragically lost their lives at the scene, while two others succumbed to their injuries despite receiving urgent medical attention at Tafo Government Hospital.
Eleven additional passengers sustained critical injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at the same medical facility.
Authorities from the Police Service have visited the accident site to initiate investigations into the cause of the collision.
