Life has become extremely difficult for victims whose buildings collapsed due to severe flooding in Okyereko, Gomoa East District, Central Region, a month ago.
Many of the affected residents are now forced to live in uncompleted buildings, exposing them to harsh weather and other dangers that threaten their health and safety.
The flooding not only destroyed homes but also severely damaged the main Accra to Cape Coast road, leaving numerous families homeless.
Despite the initial visits and assurances from government officials, the victims feel abandoned and say they have received no significant help since the disaster struck.
One resident lamented, “We were promised support, but nothing has been done. We are struggling to survive in these uncompleted structures.”
The lack of adequate shelter and resources has made recovery difficult for the flood victims, who continue to endure challenging living conditions.
The victims are urgently calling on the government for assistance, emphasizing the need for immediate relief to improve their living situations and rebuild their homes.
